Development
Every project begins with an idea, which needs to be developed
into a refined concept. Directors either start with the script or
a storyboard, but both must be completed to start on a production.
The script acts as a blueprint for the overall project, and is
used for a myriad of activities including: voice over acting, production
planning, and budgeting. It focuses on the plot and how the characters
interact through the different acts (i.e. setup, problem, conflict,
resolution & climax, and wrap-up). We can help you refine your
script, or create one, so that you can communicate your story in
an organized and professional way.
The storyboard focuses on the visual elements, as they would tell
a good story. We will bring your story to life in the initial concept
phase by using our storyboard and storyline animatic technique.
Since animation is about the visual, we feel this is the most effective
way of communicating the potential of your project, and set it up
for production.
Development also includes initial design and artwork, such as
characters, vehicles, environments, and other assets. With a refined
look, you can communicate the excitement and brand value of the
project.
Finally, you may need a production plan to secure a budget. This
includes a complexity analysis, budget forecast, and project plan.
With this, you can show the how, the when, and the who for making
your animation.
