2D and 3D Animation
We specialize in creating 2D and 3D animation using two key ingredients:
Artists: We look for
experienced people that have worked on major projects or demonstrate
the talent that is expected by our clients.
Process: From whatever
starting point provided by the client, we use storyline animatics,
and use an approval process to ensure that there is no wasted
effort.
Each member of our team understands the animation process, and
has put this knowledge to the test on many different projects, two
of which are outlined below.
Case 1: Coca Cola, Inc. commercial for
NASCAR Daytona 500.
This was a 60 second animated film for the award winning advertising
agency Berlin Cameron / Red Cell representing the excitement of
NASCAR stock car racing. The spot, sponsored by Coca Cola, Inc.,
promotes the Classic Coca Cola™ soft drink brand and NASCAR.
It uses a combination of scratchy 2D and 3D animation to effectively
communicate the feelings of excitement and energy around the imagined
private lives of four stock car drivers and the build up to the
start of a race. First shown in approximately 10,000 theaters around
the United States, it will then appear on television during the
Daytona 500 race. Production was very complex, and included multi-layered
approvals (studio, ad agency, client), story rewrites, and cel-shading
of 3D to make it blend with 2D. Overall, the client and ad agency
were very satisfied with the work, especially since it represents
the first time Coca-Cola, Inc. utilized a 2D animation technique
for the entire film.
Case 2: D7Peacemaker™: Stage 1.
The first animation project we completed was the 38 minute animated
comic film D7Peacemaker™: Stage 1. The film was created using
a combination of traditional 2d drawings and the computer program,
Macromedia Flash. Stage 1 premiered at the third largest anime convention
in the US, A-kon™, and was also featured at the 2002 Austin
Film Festival. The two-disk set (one DVD and one CD soundtrack)
of the film was self distributed and sold at a local Suncoast video
store. It was a test of our animation process, and a proof of concept
for the studios upcoming feature D7Peacemaker™: Prodigal Child.
